I started butchering my own deer several years ago and this tool is a great addition to my skinning kit. Grips perfectly on the slippery skin to help you pull it down as you go. No problems with quality or design so far with use on 4 deer so far.

I’ve cleaned/processed my whitetail deer for 40years but can’t grip like I used to so I wanted to try this. This device is very well built with heavy, strong materials with a good design. My only complaints are: 1) It needs to open more to get a better “bite” on the hide, 2) The teeth need to be slightly longer for the same reason. It slipped a couple of times which can be partly due to user error but could have been reduced with improvements as suggested above. Overall I would recommend this vs the type you have squeeze like pliers. I avoided that type since it requires a very specific and limited grip.

Don't know why I didn't buy this years ago. Would have appreciated having it even before my wrists got old, now it's almost a necessity. Makes skinning deer so much easier.

Heavy, well made, makes processing much easier.

Mine got lost in shipping. I did eventually get it but it was too late for hunting season. So I haven't tried it yet. That said, It looks good. it's larger and heavier than I thought. I'm optimistic that it will work well.

This works extremely well and seems to be very strong. When i first got it i was very disappointed and I almost sent it back because the fit and finish is terrible. The casting looks OK but it has heavy course grinding marks all over it and the jaws are obviously angled to each other due to badly drilled pin holes.

It worked as advertised. Makes getting a grip and pulling hide much easier. Here's are some tips: 1-make sure you have a good amount of hide in the gripper or it will pull hair out and tear hide if you are close to the edge. 2-where you place the gripper MUST be free from any fat that is attached to the hide or it WILL slip off and the teeth will be packed with fat which needs to be cleaned out before using again.

easy to use and clean, it's a big plus when you process your meat alone. heavy duty design, gonna last forever
