Testors 1139TT Enamel Paint, 0.25 Oz, Semi-Gloss Black

Good paint, may not be the same quality as the older stuff I grew up with but it does work. Takes a few more coats than what I remember. Color acceptable, drying time between coats and final curing is good. Goes on thin at first but just keep laying on the layers till you reach your desired level.

As the title of this review says... I bought one (0.25 fluid ounce glass jar) of Enamel, Gloss Black TESTORS paint (generally for model kits; which was also why I needed to buy this one, for the record). The only complaint I have was my confusion regarding the size of the packaging this one little jar came in, with the one single piece of brown packaging paper which did nothing; frankly I'm amazed this GLASS JAR survived the journey I can only imagine it must have underwent to get to me in a day and a half rush via amazon prime delivery. BUT the item did nevertheless survive in this box that was probably 2,000x the size necessary for it. I took a whole star away from the potential five because I intend to KEEP these jars and not just toss them when they're empty, be my intent to refill them or use them for some other purpose, I DO use these little 0.25 fl oz. glass bottles for numerous reasons, and had this broke on that journey it went in a day and a half, not only would it have made a terrible mess for the amazon prime delivery person, but surely they would have had to return and replace the item, and in this hypothetical situation this would have made my paid monthly subscription to Amazon Prime seem pretty pointless. But as for the paint itself... five for five. It's TESTORS enamel paint. What were you expecting this review to say... that company is top notch when it comes to their merchandise for that price, when it's paints at least. If you're newer to the model-building hobby like me, I'd recommend starting out with TESTORS Acrylic paints as I did, being that type of paint is easier to wash than Enamel. Plus Acrylic will set faster, and Enamel takes longer to dry but looks better once it does (generally; also, for comparison, enamel is the type of paint usually used on standard buildings' / house walls (here in the US anyway), while Acrylic is better or common for paintings. Just something to think about if you're newer to this hobby like I am).

Bought this to use as a “color fill” for a watch bezel. It worked amazing. I applied the paint with a toothpick and overfilled the numbers then scraped the extra off with a sharpened toothpick once dried. It gave excellent and clean results. Very easy to apply, and very easy to clean up. I can tell it’s “mat” and not “gloss” too which is what I was after. Worked so well I did my mom’s ring after.

This paint is ideal for small touch-up jobs, so a fine tipped paint brush is required. I used it to colour in a small chip on my motorcycle tank. Requires a solvent to clean your brush,.

I have been asked to repaint an unfired statuette as the owner does not like the colours it has been painted in. This paint is real quality and the expense is worth it. however, the moment you open the pot/jar it smells kind of toxic - and I would recommend it is used outside in the open air. if you go to testers website they recommend this. Great paint though, and looks very 'gold'.
