It is true to the advertised size, but note that the interior dimension will comfortable hold a beverage can. Any cup larger than a beverage can is out of luck. My plan was to replace broken plastic cup holders on my couch with these stainless steel cup holders, but the smaller interior dimension won't work. However, becasue of the excellent quality I will find another use for these cup holders.
Review: A little big - This works for large tumblers but will rattle if a smaller one is used. But is made well with a nice brushed finish.

A: There is not a drain.  It has a solid bottom.

**Q: Will this cupholder cupholder hold a cup that is 9cm?**
A: (No, to 9cm)  but (yes to
6.985 cm ) or 2.75 inches.
This will hold a 12fl oz (355 ml) can or bottle with a little room, perfectly. 
I believe you need a 3 inch hole to fit it in.
I put these in my boat.

The cup holder is a quality product. Made of thick stainless steel it is meant to last for years. It is true to the advertised size, but note that the interior dimension will comfortable hold a beverage can. Any cup larger than a beverage can is out of luck. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Durable Cupholder Inserts

I built a console extension for my vehicle and added these so I could keep my coffee within hands reach. They work perfectly for that. They work well with anything about as big around as a soda can, small bottle of water, small coffee cup or small-medium beverage cup. For anything larger, like a large drink, full-size coffee cup or large iced drink container, forget it. I typically use a small hot coffee travel cup and it works perfectly for that. It looks beautiful with the brushed stainless finish and polished edge. Use an appropriate hole saw to make your opening and just drop it in.
