Tripp Lite DVI over Cat5 / Cat6 Extender, Extended Range Video Receiver 1920x1080 at 60Hz(B140-1A0),Black

I installed a the tripp Lite 4 port DVI over cat5 transmitter and 3 remote units. They work, but it took a lot of experimentation. Tripp Lite is very limited in its capability and doesn't like an environment where you need to have mixed media. That was very dissappointing to me as I still don't have an answer for what I truly need.I set up 3 projectors and a PC to run them from in our church. I used Tripp Lite for everything. I wanted to use hdmi to prepare for future upgrades and use adapters with the projectors, (they only have DVI ports) The Tripp Lite equipment did not work at all. I called tripp lite tech support and they suggested I switch to the DVI over cat5 units instead of hdmi and NOT use adapters on the projectors. It worked and everything is running. We installed a TV in our foyer and I tried to use an HDMI receiver and it didn't work. I tried to use an DVI receiver with an adapter to plug into the VGA port. (The TV only has a VGA and HDMI ports) I never got any combination of adapters to work. I called Tripp Lite support and was told that you cannot mix any other kind of receiver other than the type you are transmitting. (I hope that makes sense) So if you have projectors that use DVI ports, you can't have any other receiver device except those that have DVI ports. Same thing if you use the HDMI transmitter. You can't mix in any other devices except those that have HDMI ports. This is a really serious flaw and should be fixed. This was not told to us before we began, It is not in any of the documentation or on the Tripp Lite Website. I felt like it should be well documented. Even when I talked to their technical support some of them said, I should be able to mix, but they were wrong according to the higher level support people. The product works, but you need to understand the limitations.

Easy to install, works like a dream. My company will be adding this to our approved vendors list.

Right for the job. compact size, high quality. Does not disappoint. Simple setup. plug and play. Certainly recommended and will most likely buy another unit soon.
