I used to buy custom sized broadcloth-oxford button downs but they are extinct
After trying to find what I considered a standard wardrobe item at men's clothing retailers, I took a chance on ordering by mail. I guessed that I would be XL. I'm 6 feet 2 inches and 210 pounds. Back in the day, which has apparently gone forever, shirts were sold with chest, neck and inseam measurements. I wore an 18 neck. This short fits in all dimensions except the neck, which feels like a 17. This means I have to use the knot of my tie to conceal a failure to button the top button. I blame this on millennial pencilnecks. Men go to gyms, but they don't work on their necks.I want to add that these are not permanent pressed. The shirts sold in the 80's were permanent pressed. Maybe the chemical used to achieve that was hazardous, or maybe ironing boards are fun now.

Quality shirt. Not too blousy.
I'm 5'11" and hover around 175-180 lbs. so I'm a pretty average guy. I've been thin my whole life but now I'm in my 40's so if I don't watch it, my stomach will get bigger. I bought this shirt in slim-fit first. It was perfect but since these shirts are 100% cotton, I was concerned that after a couple washings, it would be too small (especially in the stomach area). I returned the slim-fit and bought this regular-fit (medium). For this review, I thought it would be helpful to compare the Amazon Essentials shirt to The Gap's regular oxford shirt. I've always liked the fit of Gap oxford shirts. Upon inspection, the weight and feel of the Amazon oxford cloth is exactly the same at the Gap's.I laid one of my old Gap shirts on top of this Amazon Essentials oxford. You can see from the pictures that the torso cut is exactly the same (about 21 inches pit-to-pit seam). I like that. I'm not a fat guy and I don't want a blousy shirt. This is neither too blousy nor too slim. Just right. The sleeves are perhaps 1/2 inch longer than the Gap shirt. Perhaps one negative is the tail. The Amazon Essentials tail is 1.5-2" longer than the Gap shirt. This makes the Amazon Essentials shirt a touch long for wearing untucked in my opinion. However, if you do tuck, a longer shirt stays tucked-in. So it depends how you want to wear it. I have a lady who does alterations. She'll charge $10 to shorten the tail if I wanted that. If I do have the Amazon shirt altered, it would still be a bargain. These are good quality shirts with a nice cut to them. I won't hesitate to buy them again. Highly recommended.

Great Quality - Great Price
I must admit, I was not expecting much when I ordered this shirt but I decided to give it a try. Boy was I surprised. I am 6'3" and 184 lbs. and the large fit perfect. I would guess the neck to be 16.5-17" and the sleeve length to be 34-35"". The cotton is moderate in weight (not thin and flimsy) and it is made in Vietnam (much better quality than Chinese products). I washed it in cold water and dried it on low heat. The result was minimal shrinkage with the collar holding its shape nicely and the body of the shirt had minor wrinkling. This is not a suit and tie dress shirt. It is a nicely fitting casual shirt that is perfect with jeans. I was impressed.

In Love
Female, 5'8" bought XXL in blue for the oversized casual look with jeans or just by itself. Immediately became my favorite shirt. Covers well below the glutes (5-6" about) and front even at my height, you could wear leggings or spandex shorts underneath in public without a problem, sleeves rolled up or down. Sturdy fabric got a little thickness to it which I love (hate the super thin "real dress shirts"), got the blue and love the heathered look instead of just flat blue. Great for any weather really, breezy being it's oversized and warm enough for cooler weather. Extremely happy with this purchase for $20. Got a lot of compliments first day wearing it. Seriously thinking about buying a second one for lounge wear at home it's so comfy (not soft but comfy) and relaxing.

Just works and works really well for the price point
Pull the trigger and with muscle gain consider buying shirt stays. I’ve had this for 3 months and this is a fantastic shirt. The fit is universal as no measurement is required. I use this shirt in a business/hospital setting and I get looks. Go for it!I intend on getting all of the shirts in every color, as you absolutely can’t go WRONG!*for those wondering... no I have not dry cleaned any of the shirts. I will buy extras of the same color for standby or interview ready. Good luck business men.Oh and if the first set does fade over time I’ll them as casual wear as they’re quite nice!

Nice shirt, nice thickness
I'm 6 foot, average build. Minor gut. XL fit just right. Does not need ironing out of the package. Comes ready to wear. Nice thickness to material. Not thin like many dress shirts. Great value

Love this shirt.
Unexpectedly great shirt for the money. Fabric is opaque (no show through) but breathable and comfortable. I don't iron (hey - I'm paying for cotton, and it's okay if it looks like it) but instead remove it from the dryer immediately at the end of the cycle. An occasional spritz with wrinkle release and it's perfect for me. Sleeve length is comfortable, and sleeve width allows it to be comfortably rolled up to below elbow without looking sloppy . No gaps at the chest button. I love this shirt. Ordering more.

Need neck and sleeve lengths to choose shirt sizes
We bought an Amazon Essentials shirt a year or more ago and love everything about it. It was sized by neck and sleeve length as well as by body fullness. It is a great shirt. We wanted a second one. BAM! Only sizes now are XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL, etc. and body fullness. We picked wrong. Not enough information to choose correctly.

Brilliant value for money
I’m really happy with this Oxford shirt. It’s just as I like them, with soft but heavy material. It’s certainly a great casual (but not office) shirt. I’m a 42in chest and usually have to fluctuate between M and L in shirts. As this is a regular fit I went for M and it fits me perfectly.More importantly it is nearly half the price of my usual supplier whose high street outlets are closing this month.A great buy and brilliant value for money.

Love the shirt.
Liked, it is regular fit. It is a big baggy (relaxed fit) but I loved as it is fresh and isn't that serious fine cotton. It does bring the relax fit with outfits.More than casual, but not sporty.

A good fit and comfortable
Based on the size guide, I bough a large and it turned out to be a perfect fit for me. I'm not a fan of the current trend of "slim" fit shirts, so I liked that this was a nice casual fit. Out of the packet the material did not feel as soft as other Oxford shirts that I have had, so I put it in the wash before wearing. This did the trick, and it has come out nice and soft, and very comfortable to wear. I will be buying more, assuming that they get other colour options back in my size.

Fabulous quality!
Very surprised as the excellent quality of material, lovely soft thick feel to it. I used to buy my oxford shirts at a well know high street store but their quality has really gone downhill so i tried this and will be placing further orders for more. Will now also try more Amazon Essentials ranges.
