Great little kit - we bought the 6 ink colour kit with 10 paper sheets. It was easy to use - my kids aged 7/8 managed to get some good results. The colours are bright and mix well. There are a couple of tools in the box but we also used combs and forks to make patterns. Just a fyi - as other people have mentioned - make the water solution the night before. Use hot water and sprinkle the correct amount of powder in the water while mixing it to make sure there are no lumps. We used a hand whisk very gently to make sure it all mixed up and dissolved properly. The mixure when cooled feels like a very slightly thickened liquid and is completely clear. There is plenty inks and powder left to make more after the initial 10. I am going to use watercolour paper that I have and cut to size for their next project.

I bought this for my 7 year old, and it was by far his favorite Christmas gift. His two older brothers, neither of whom are normally into art, have also enjoyed using it. It is easy to use (my 7 year old can do all but mix the water himself) and the results look great. There is enough dye and mixing agent to make a **lot** of art. Construction paper and printer paper also work when the sample paper runs out. Many reviewers said that it was impossible to mix the thickening agent into the water, but I didn't find it hard at all. Yes, it will tend to clump together, but I just used a spoon to mash the clumps. I'm not patient enough to get the consistency perfect, but having a few lumps doesn't seem to affect the art quality.

Bought this for my son for his 6th birthday. He really liked it. It was easy to do, he liked mixing the colors and the paints dry really bright! I liked that it has everything you need and wasn’t too messy. We did a few papers and saved the rest for another time. It does take some patience to do. It was hard mixing up the water and carrageenan, took awhile. Overall very happy with this set!

I bought this for a 9 year old. Preparation of the solution does requie a little adult help the first time. Applying the paints, mixing and pulling off the print is easy to do without adult supervision. It is possible to buy extra paper from other places, and make more prints. We used most of the paper with the first batch of solution in the tray.

I ordered this on a whim without reading too much about it. My almost 2 year old is really into art and I thought this would be a fun variation. She is able to do it on her own! I just dip the paper in for her once she is ready. She loves to do the paint drops and "squirrel" (swirl) it around. She has a great time with it and I have found it very easy to clean if it gets on her skin or my table.

My daughter wanted to make ‘hydro dip’ projects like she see’s on you tube. This worked pretty well for her without having to deal with spray paint. She made cool designs on paper that was provided and we also did some little canvas bandanas for our dogs that turned out pretty well. Only problem is the powder mix to make the water thick is impossible to mix in completely and we end up having to strain our lumps of it before dipping.

Purchased two of these kits. Both trays in each kit arrived broken. Using for a class and had to find something else to put the liquid in. No protection for the breakable trays.
