## Description

A strange new galactic body has emerged within the Milky Way. The greatest minds of The United Earth Services find themselves bewildered by the sudden appearance of Shy Pluto. Get the crews to their stations — it's time to deploy your ships. The Emergence of Shy Pluto is the first installment of Space Base "Saga Expansions". This expansion to Space Base is a collection of story-based scenarios that introduce new content to the game via a narrative structure. Not only are new ships added, but new scenarios are included as well. Once the story is completed, it may be replayed or the contents may be added to the Space Base base set.

Review: Awesome Expansion - Adds so much without complicating anything! - Great expansion. Adds so much to the game while only adding easy mechanics. When you add it all together, it's a much more fun game! I'm so sad to see this out of print. The base game is nothing without Shy Pluto. I wish AEG would release the expansions—so much amazing work, and most of us won't ever get to play them. I haven't played the others, but this one is AMAZING. I love how Shy Pluto makes other people's turns more interesting. This is an all-around awesome expansion.
Review: Great addition to the base game - Minor spoilers ahead: We really enjoyed Space Base, and Shy Pluto added a lot of new ways to win. Should you focus on income? Personal rolls? The old trusty arrow chains? Victory point cards? Or will you buy patrol cards and work those Shy Pluto dice? The Story was fine, and a good way to gradually introduce the new cards and dice to the game. It's really fun to have dice to roll each turn, and the new cards add a lot of variety to our games. The wife and I play this 3+ times a day, as the games typically only take 20 minutes or so, once you get familiar. Recommended as an add on to a great game.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You wouldn't expect a story-driven Space Base expansion to be good, but...
*by D***L on March 21, 2020*

When you open up the box for the first, it says don't look at 99% of the cards or read 99% of the rules until you're told to, which might make you think that there's no replayability, but there definitely is. It's a story that goes along several playthroughs, so you can actually savor the gameplay, rather than rush through it in a couple hours or so. The new cards and mechanics are good, but not game-breaking. Since there is a story and new stuff, that's all I'm going to say about it. Our group is enjoying the expansion a lot and I hope they come out with more.
