Heats Fast, Saves Gas
If you hold your hands over a regular cooking pot when you're heating water for pasta, you can feel the unused heat escaping into the room while you wait. Our other pots are copper-bottom Revere, and they are inferior to this pot too. If it's summer, you might hear your A/C come on to cool the room back down. This pot captures more of that heat and boils your water faster. If I had it to do over, I would have bought an electric stove and range instead of gas, because gas has a huge GHG footprint. I think of this Turbo Pot as a small GHG footprint pot, because it saves gas.I am impressed with its high quality. The heat sink bonded to its bottom is thick aluminum with deep machined grooves. Besides sucking more the heat out of your burner flame, you can tell from the pattern of boiling bubbles on the bottom of the water, it distributes it nicely too. The outside is highly polished, and the inside is smooth and easy to clean. And because it transfers heat so well, it doesn't get discolored like cheaper pots with thin bottoms do. The handle is hollow and long, so it stays cool, and it is sealed so that wash water stays out of it. The clear glass top is thick (double layer?) with a vent, beautiful handle, and protective metal rim. It seals well while letting you keep an eye on the contents.I think this pot will never wear out, but if I need another pot for a gas range, it will definitely be a Turbo Pot.My regrets? My gas range has a small burner, but I wish it had an even smaller burner, because this pot requires so little to maintain a simmer. And I wish this pot were available in smaller (1 and 1 1/2 quart) sizes.

Actually works!
Boils water noticeably faster on our gas range. Construction looks good, though it does make some heat-related ticking noises.

heats quickly
Needed a pot for boiling water quickly for Mac n cheese or other pasta for the kids. Works great. Comes clean easily.

It's definitely fast
We've used it for boiling water for pasta and heating up leftovers - it was surprisingly fast. You have to watch it for cooking on gas or it will burn! Had some rice and beans brown and stick, but caught it in time and it cleaned up with water. Looks like this puppy WILL save on the gas bill. The bottom is like a metal heat sink in a computer - thick aluminum fins. They are relatively sharp edged, so it feels and sounds like it's going to take the paint off your burner covers when you slide it across the stove. Or scratch your sink or countertops. Would be good if they adjusted the cast to have softer edges on the bottom. The handle is nice, comfortable, and seems to stay cool while cooking.Wish it was bigger. It's really smaller than I thought it was from the measurements someone listed - they should be making a 4 qt pasta boiler for heaven's sake. But I am tempted to get the stockpot. Wish it was a little less pricey though - the extra cost for the pot is basically a year's worth of gas...hmmmm...time vs. money...

Really nice pot
Water boils in about half the time. A drawback is that sliding the pot around on the burner can't be done, due to the groves catching in the burner's standoff. I'm very glad I bought it. It has a permanent place on my stove top.
