Pleased With Result
I am pleased with the factory-like bluing produced by the Birchwood Casey Super Blue. Application is easy. I prepped my vintage German air rifle as directed. Two applications produced bluing comparable to the factory bluing on another product from the same manufacturer. I applied the bluing to white steel after removing rust and worn factory bluing.I would buy this product again.

Great, but patchy sometimes
Kind of patchy and inconsistent, but I'm fairly certain it's my lack of skill. I'm learning yet, so I'll buy more and keep working. One of my older guns I used it on looks perfect.

It works, be patient... mine came out great
So I started making a display model, and had to do extensive work. Thought I had the “after photo” but I don’t will try to load later. It works but need to apply go do something come back clean and repeat the directions were “let it work 30 seconds then rinse with cold water” nah you apply go do something let it sit for 5 mins come back and reapply expect 5-8 coats. It will look good!!! But this is best done if you have a side project or something else you’re trying to do in the down time. I’m happy, it’s not paint, it doesn’t take much time to apply but you will need time between coats and all that. Plan accordingly.

Works well
1st you have to acetone clean what you're trying to blue Then apply the BLUING wait an hour or so wipe off excrss then cover with oil and let it sit overnight it works great then

Nice color, and as long as the metal is clean it will take immediately.

Most steel takes MANY coats to get a dark color.
This product works well. The issue is that they tell you to repeat the rinse, clean and coat process until you get the color that you want. I had no idea that it would take about ten coats to get the color depth that I wanted on my part. Be ready for a long process.
