Chef Works Men's Hartford Cool Vent Chef Coat
J**L
Gray Jedi
So... have you ever seen Return of the Jedi, where Luke wears a black tunic with an overlapping front flap that unzips to fold down?Well, this chef's jacket does a super good job of acting as that tunic. Worn under a hooded robe, it's all you need to be a gray jedi. And half the cost of having jedi robes made custom or buying from a costume company. The cut allows ample room for full range of lightsaber motions. Highly recommend.

Pass on This Coat if You're an Actual Chef
My husband has been a chef for almost 30 years. He is tough on chef coats. He needs something comfortable, durable, and that holds up to constant wash/wear. So, I'm always looking for "the one." The Hartford is NOT it. It falls shorts on all accounts. First, the modern styling may look neat, but it's impractical and fussy. Moving the chest pocket to the arm made my husband nuts. He says it is so inefficient having to reach across to the arm rather than just up on the chest. And it's not big enough for his phone and little notepad. The side vents catch on things and snag. The fabric is a grease magnet, so the coat, after two wears looked like garbage - even with a stain treatment. My husband has broad shoulders, but the coat still hangs oddly and looks baggy. He says the fabric feels weird and drapes poorly. This coat is so overpriced. I'm glad I only bought the one. Keep looking. They went for fashion over functionality. Big mistake.

Perfect and comfortable beyound words
I am an executive chef in NYC and I am constantly moving back and forth, from station to station, prepping and training sometimes 12 hours a day and I have to say that these are by far the most comfortable chef jackets I've ever used, the quality is amazing and well made and most importantly breathable. The fit is perfect, not baggy, I hate buying a chef jacket and it's baggy, this is well made and the fit is perfect. I am 6 foot 4 and 230 pounds and the large fit me well. The extra large was way too big on me to where I had to return it

Must purchase
I’ve been ordering these chef coats for about 2 yrars. A couple times from Restaurant Depot and a couple times from Amazon. What attracts me most is the zipper, quality and fit of the coat. These coats have been worn five days a week for 12 hour shifts in all types of weather so when I say quality is on point, the quality is on point. Least thing that attracts me is that now that I have all the color, I would like more of a variety of colors. For instance, red and green. Price is a little high but totally worth it.

PIILLS under arms & side w/Regular WALKING - Material Doesn't Breath
The material on this doesn't breath, despite perforated breathing feature under arms. PILLS like crazy all down the sides from arm motion/movement with normal walking. Looks nice, however super hot/sweat trapping garment. Would never recommend, only needed for work. Could be designed to BREATH (the poly% makes it hot). For the price this should not pill like crazy the way it does. Definitely a poor material choice by company that designed.

Got for myself- even though for dudes
My brother got one and I liked the look. Other than being a little tighter on my chest and hips, it’s super comfortable and I can rest assured it won’t pop open. Love that it’s a zipper and not buttons.

Awesome chef jacket!
Fits great, looks great! Don't buy if you're attached to having a chest pocket though! 5 stars for beauty, craft, and fit! Hopefully they'll add more colors in the future!Updated 1/2019I really enjoy wearing this style. It has supplanted the buttons and knots in my daily kitchen experiences inplace of the zipper closure and I couldn’t be happier. The original coat of this style I purchased is still holding up well and I have since added many more to the collection. Fit is great. The grey style has a perfect hue for off site modern events that require a Chef in a public or service setting.

Great length!
This coat fit me very well. I usually buy a large with chef works and they fit a bit loose. These jackets fit a bit more snug which I liked. The zipper is a nice touch instead of snaps or buttons. Very clean look. The two strips of ventilation fabric running down the sides is a great feature. Much better than a flap of fabric on the back or holes in the armpits. Very happy, already bought a second one.

Inconsistent tailoring.
Bought three colours. One fits perfect, one is a little weirdly cut and one is a bit snug. For this price I’d expect better consistency. Not unwearable but quite disappointing from a brand I’ve trusted for years.

Inconsistent quality
I bought three different colours. One is perfect. One is ok. One in tiny. They are all, allegedly, the same size. They seem well made and wash fine, but the sizing is a real issue and they’re not cheap.

Excelente calidad y comfort.
La calidad de la tela es excelente, el corte super cómodo, muy fresca también. Y la talla pareciera hecha a la medida, al menos para mí. Recomendada 100%
