This is such a useful piece of equipment for home drills. We ordered a large and it’s the perfect size for my teen. If you’re using it indoors - make sure you have LOTS of space. It rolls a lot and is bouncy. Be especially careful when using it for the first time. Your gymnast may be used to foam barrels for their gym, which aren’t bouncy at all, and they may lose control a bit while they get used to the feel of the air barrel. It’s great for drilling body positions and technical skills. It gives plenty of support. It has very sturdy side handles to help stabilize it while a gymnast does a skill, or if you have to move it. It’s way easier to move than foam barrels. My daughter did handstands, back handsprings and even back tuck drills onto it, and it had no issues with collapsing. It’s durable and resilient, and withstood a lot of impact. It does roll a lot, however. If you need it stationary, the cradles are worth buying. Ours came with a pump, but we inflated it with an electric air pump in under 1 minute. This has already become my daughters favorite piece of equipment. Highly recommend!

We purchased the large, blue barrel for our teenage daughter to work on her back handspring at home. It worked perfectly. She is 5'7" and 160lbs and it was perfect for her. After she used it for the remainder of high school, it went on to her tumbling instructor who continues to use it for students. Very durable. Highly recommend!

Pros: Easy to transport Sturdy Versatile - can use for multiple skills and have the ability to connect it to other equipment. Manual pump - good pre workout for your arms 😆 Cons: Manual pump - time-consuming Hard to stuff in the provided travel bag

My daughter has been in gymnastics for almost a year. She is starting to learn the backhand spring and the air barrel is giving her the confidence to practice that skill and many other gymnastics moves with ease! I recommend this product

I would have ordered this a long time ago if I knew how fun and helpful this would be for my young gymnast. She plays with this constantly, and it is definitely improving her ability to do back handsprings and other moves. My daughter is a smallish 8 year old, and the 24 inch is definitely the right size for her. I think you’d have to at least 10 or 11 for the 30 inch to be the right size. It comes with a pump, but I used my air compressor and the enclosed tube to air it up. Saved a LOT of time and effort.

My 11yo daughter got this for christmas and omg she is obsessed!!! It's great for practice her gymnastics and so fun to play too! She use this everyday! The material is VERY resistant, sometimes there is 2 or 3 girls on top of it or jumping on it and it holds the air perfectly!
