They are the nicest scissors I have ever owned. I am a luthier, ( guitar maker) and I use them for cutting 1/4” thick cowhide and buffalo hide to make custom straps for guitar and banjo straps. They are nice and solid/heavy duty scissors. **Q: Do they come left handed?** A: You can easily use in either hand. I had major rebuild of my right wrist and still used with my left hand easily. **Q: are there guidelines for knowing what size to buy?** A: Yes, of course! If the job you're working on works best for the size you use or vise-versa, the bill will be filled. It seems logical that when I'm cutting floss for cross-stitching, I'll use very small scissors.
