As a parent, I can't say enough good things about the Yomega The Original Brain yoyo. It's been an excellent choice for my child who's just getting into yoyoing and wants to explore this classic skill toy.One of the standout features of the Yomega Brain is its beginner-friendly design. The auto-return feature is a game-changer for kids who are still learning the basics. It ensures that the yoyo comes back to their hand, reducing frustration and helping them build confidence in their skills. This feature alone has made the learning process much smoother for my child.Durability is a big concern for parents, and the Yomega Brain doesn't disappoint. Despite numerous falls and tumbles, it has held up exceptionally well. It's clear that this yoyo is built to withstand the rigors of beginner practice.The design is another plus point. It looks professional and not overly childish, making it suitable for older kids and teenagers as well. This means that the Yomega Brain can grow with your child as they progress in their yoyo journey.I appreciate how this yoyo encourages active play and helps develop hand-eye coordination. It's a great alternative to screen time and video games.

Works great and is super fun

Note that this is a pretty specific yoyo- YES its beginner friendly in a way, just learned how to throw my first sleepers on it, but I think thats all its really meant for. If you're really wanting to get into string tricks, or if you just want something more versatile, there are definitely MUCH better options for this price point (just ordered an Offset Ascent and a Variant, Ascents are like $17 or $18 I think, and are responsive like this. I believe the variant is UNRESPONSIVE, however)Specifically, the clutch system this yoyo uses to sleep is very old and I think kind of unique (this is a 90s yoyo, very different times)- not only do you have to throw the SNOT out of this to make it sleep at all, it's only going to sleep for maybe a few seconds at the most- it will ALWAYS return back to your hand even without pulling it out of sleep. If you're trying to learn some simple tricks with this you're going to NEED some good sleep time, and this is NOT the yoyo for MOST tricks.I will say I'm thankful I've learned how to get some pretty powerful throws with this as my first yoyo though, because you have no other choice if you want it to sleep AT ALL.Really, I'd consider this just a tool to learn to get powerful throws, and I guess a sort of fidget toy too if you're okay just throwing some really short sleepers.I've also heard the clutch on this doesn't take too much to break, though it's worked fine for me for the one day I've been throwing it.Might update this review once I've gotten my other yoyos and have something more universal to compare it to!

I had one as a kid, works just like it used to. Now my son gets to enjoy it.

I remember when I little I tried to pick up yoyoing but failed and hated how I could never get it back in my hand or even sleep. Now in College I decided to take it up again.The Yomega Brain is great for the absolute beginner who does not know jack squat of what to do. Let me point out that through it has a clutch system, it's not that yoyo "ball" whatsoever. It still requires work. In fact it took be a few days to do a gravity pull and even to make it sleep. I will say Yomega's videos were extremely helpful. And soon I was able to walk the dog.So they meant be novice tricks but even the expert was a beginner. Sadly yesterday the string snapped. It was easy to put on a new string but then it started making this little noise. Went to their site it has to be lubed.I'm all to eager for when it arrives so I practice, due more tricks, then move up.I really like yoyoing now

Why did you pick this product vs others?:very average. doesn't sleep. 100% of yoyos bought off Amazon come with pre cut string that's way too short.

Had this version when I was kid decide to get it because my kids wanted a yoyo and I got them both actual authentic yo-yos from the same company as this one. And I’m like a child again enjoying it. Remember some of the tricks I use to can do still not great at it. But enough to impress my kids. Wanted to experience this moment with them both. Mechanics are still the same after all these years. Duncan never misses a beat.
