One of the famous Japanese Ironware maker. This Teapot comes with a premium but it's made to last and true made in japan cast iron teapots.the quality is top notch and inside it comes with a guide that shows also all the steps in the making of this ironware.Keep in mind this "Tsubasa" is not meant to be used on flames. There is a coating inside. The actual Tsubasa are made in Cast Iron without that internal coating and they are used to boil water in traditional Japanese tea ceremony. the water is being poured in traditional ceramic/clay teapots.Nevertheless as a teapot this is an awesome one and you won't regret it ! Beautiful in shape and very warm. Handle not hot.

At the right price, although won't keep tea too warm. Not ideal for Gyokuro, great for general Sencha. The design and material is wunderbar (and made in Japan).

clearly all the others are cheap knock offs trying to be this. as a general rule, always pay more and get an authentic, quality product. this thing is beautiful.

I've always wanted a made-in-Japan Tetsubin teapot, so splurged on this. I guess I could be drinking the same tasting tea out of a Dollar Store creamic teapot, but the heft of the pot, the way it pours without dripping, even the warmth that extends to its exterior -- I just like the experience.

The black enamel coating began flaking off while I was rinsing the teapot out before the first use, so I returned it. Since there are only two reviews of this particular teapot, I am not entirely sure if the one I received just happened to be defective, or if this is a more systemic problem. However, I just looked through Amazon and found other Iwachu products reviewed and it looks like it might be a common issue for this brand. I would highly recommend against purchasing this teapot. It's too expensive to have to worry about bad enameling.

Die Kanne hält was sie verspricht. Natürlich ist sie teurer als maschinell gefertigte Produkte aber sie hat definitiv einen anderen Charme und eine höhere Qualität. Die Emaillierung sieht qualitativ hochwertig aus. Durch die große Öffnung und die runde Form lässt sich die Kanne sehr gut pflegen, da man Teeablagerungen sofort erkennt und ausspülen kann. Besonders überrascht hat mich, dass man mit dieser Kanne nicht kleckert. Der Strahl bricht nach dem Ausschütten abrupt ab, sodass kein Tropfen den Kannenhals hinunterläuft, so wie es der Fall bei anderen Gusseisenkannen war die ich besitze.Die Wärmeleistung ist top.Geschmack ebenfalls super. Ich bin gespannt wie sich der Geschmack mit der Zeit entwickeln wird.Da ich die Kanne erst seit weniger als einer Woche besitze kann ich zur Haltbarkeit noch nichts sagen.Eine Empfehlung für Teeliebhaber!

The pot is well made - feels solid and looks good.But not sure if it a design flaw - water leak from the lid when tea is poured.Also the black color in the outside wears off - is this normal?
