PawZ Rubber Dog Boots - Waterproof Non-Slip Dog Shoes for Hot Pavement, 12 Pack

1) my dogs feet was exactly 2.5 and i debated getting this pair or the 1 size up...i decide to get this one and they fit perfect to size no need for a size up like i was worried about 2) to help.. on the package for my size small that i got the breeds listed on the package says: beagle, boston terrier, fox terrier, french bulldog, jack russell, shetland sheepdog, and shiba inu....(I have a shiba inu and was shocked they were even listed since they aren't a well known breed wish this was listed on the information on these shoes cause it wouldn't have taken me 2 days to decide what size to get) 3) i use these because my dog has allergies to something in or on the grass out here in japan and she was chewing her feet til the bleed and no meds were working from the vet...so i tried this and it has stopped the itching and i love that they are cheap and all. For my dog they are a little bit of a pain to take on and off just to go outside to play or potty but for me its worth it than spending $100s on allergy meds 4) i tried to leave them on for the whole day at first for her to get use to them and noticed she was panting HARD..checked her feet and they were burning up...they don't breath so i don't recommend keeping them on too long..dogs release heat from their feet thats why you see dogs in summer dipping their paws in water to cool themselves down. We took off the shoes and 5-10 mins later her panting had stopped and her feet weren't on fire no more. 5) i have been using the same pair now for over a month and still no holes so they last long. 6) i also bought an expensive nice pair and she hates those and never wants to walk right in them...these it only took her 1/2 day to get use to them and walk properly again. she still tries to shake them off the first few seconds they go on but after that she runs and plays and forgets they are on. I think it does make a big difference that she can feel the ground through this thin material and her toes can spread out like normal on the ground. 7) works VERY well to keep the feet dry and mud free when letting outside to potty when its raining saves me time not having to wipe her feet when she comes in, just got to pull off the shoes.

I don’t think I’ve ever given a one star rating before, but this product deserves it. I bought a set of these for my male Belgian Tervuren, about a 70 pound dog. I had him stand on paper, drew lines in front of his claws and just behind his rear pad, measured the distance (3 5/8 inches) and followed the fitting advice to order the LARGE size. This size is for Akitas, Labs, etc. The balloon part is fine - there is enough room for his paw. HOWEVER (big problem alert), the neck of the boot is so tight that a) it takes two people to put it on his paw and b) it hurts his leg because of the constriction - he holds his paws up and tries not to stand on them, and c) it’s very difficult to pull the boots off the paws once you finally get them on because the neck is SO tight. Perhaps I got a defective set, but this product is of zero use for me. I have no idea what these were made for - baby giraffes? Seriously, the ankles on these things are so much too small that it’s laughable. UPDATE: I wrote to the Pawz company about this but nobody has responded. I wanted to say to those of you who have the same problem we did that if you cut the tops of the boots off just below the lip it becomes workable, at least it did for us. The boots can then be put on by one person (although women might have more trouble than men due to the hand strength issue - I'm a guy and I didn't have any trouble) and the boots do not fall off on a long walk. I can't speak to how they stay on with active play or work because we don't do that with this older dog. I am leaving my review at one star because this is an issue the company really needs to address, even if it is in such a basic way as to inform customers via some text on the label. The boots do seem to work once you alter them, and when they work they should get a better review than I am giving them, but...they are really awful straight out of the box and the company's response to my inquiry was terrible, as in non-existant. Pawz needs a wakeup call, so my rating stands. Just know what you are getting in to.

I was in the process of preparing my Shih Tzu for winter, this is the third and last brand that I’ve purchased for my Shih Tzu. I bought two other brands that were highly reviewed only to realize that it takes a lot of time for some dogs to get acclimated with wearing boots. I lacked the time needed to properly train in time since winter is already upon us. Even after a week of training indoors my dog would wear the other boots and walk awkwardly indoors when given positive reinforcement but when taken outdoors he refused to budge. Thankfully I had ordered these as backup. It took me a week to get used to putting these boots on him but once they were on he adjusted to them instantly. Quite honestly the YouTube videos help guide you but you just have to figure out your own way of getting them on. Since I have small fingers that aren’t as strong it took a while but I figured out a way that works for me. I still have to take my time removing the boots since I haven’t quite got the hang of that yet. I’ve had to replace 4 pairs since purchasing them but they are durable enough for us. Wear and tear depends usually on the dogs nails and the amount of activity as well as the terrain. We used them for daily walks on cement path and grass. I thought the boots were too snug even though they fit perfectly on his paws so I bought a size up but I’d suggest going with the recommendation for paw size because the size up I purchased was a little too big. The way he reacts as well as the protection when we are out walking with these on is definitely worth the purchase.

These are perfect for those wet and muddy days when you don't want to constantly wash your dog's paws. The only thing is that for my Cavachon the tip of the boots got too tight for him, so I had to snip a little off the top of each boot and then they fit perfectly and I have reused the same pair so they can take a lot of wear and tear. They are so cute on him too because they make him look like he has little cow hooves.

I bought these specifically because we needed waterproof protection that wouldn't immediately slide off during a burst of puppy energy. The Good -Actually stays on: Unlike traditional booties with Velcro straps that get kicked off in thirty seconds, these stay put. They are the only thing on the market that has successfully stayed on her foot. -Keeps paws dry: It creates a complete waterproof seal. -Easy to put on solo: You don't need a second person to wrangle the dog while putting it on. The Bad -Literally just a balloon: The material is thin, tears easily, and after a single use, the top rolls down and sticks to itself. -Tight around the leg: The opening at the top is quite small and constrictive, so you can only leave it on for very short periods without worrying about cutting off circulation. -Zero heat protection: Because it’s so thin, it offers no barrier against hot pavement. Testing it with my fingers inside on asphalt in high-80s weather, I could feel the heat right through it. Verdict: Not great, not terrible. I really wish it was a higher-quality, thicker design, but given that it’s the only product that actually stays on my puppy's foot and keeps her injury dry, it serves its temporary purpose.

I initially purchased my first box of these in 2013 out of desperation. I live in Chicago and had bought several rather expensive pairs of dog shoes for my 13 lb Chihuahua, whose tiny paws cannot tolerate the snow and extreme cold of Chicago winters. He was able to walk right out of every pair of shoes I purchased, no matter how well I thought I measured. I thought these looked cheap and silly, but I had no choice but to take the risk because nothing else had worked. Now, three years since I bought my first box, I don't know how we would function without them! Firstly, I found them to be much easier to put on than they appear (although it helps to have a very cooperative dog, like my little man is). I like to turn my dog over on his back, grab a boot, stretch the mouth using the index and middle fingers of both hands, then simply place over my dog's paw and release. It can be a bit tricky the first few times around, but it wasn't long before I was able do all four paws in well under a minute. And, unlike every shoe I've ever put on every dog I've ever had, my Chihuahua does not walk around awkwardly in these - or completely refuse to walk at all. It's almost as if he's wearing nothing. I am most impressed with how well these boots protect my dog's feet. Typically, when going barefoot in the cold or snow, it would take only about a minute before his paws became intolerably cold and he simply froze in place while holding one paw in the air. I would then have to venture outside to retrieve him myself because no amount of calling or coxing would make him move from that spot. With these boots, he is able to go outside to the bathroom without issue and come back in with dry feet. I've also noticed that he dilly-dallies a lot more now that he has these boots, which is not necessarily a good thing when you want him to just do his business and come in, but it's proof that the boots are serving their purpose very well. Occasionally, he does come back in without one of his boots, but it's been a very rare occurrence. I recommend buying one of the bright colors so that they are easy to find if you have a large backyard and/or are planning to use them at night. The first boots I purchased were orange, which made the boots very easy to spot when one did fall off. The boots I most recently purchased were black and they are definitely much more difficult to locate. I've also noticed that these are very durable. Of the two packages I've purchased, only one of the boots (one of the older ones) has ever torn. The only reason I purchased another box of boots is because the orange color looked horrible with my dog's new blue snow suit (silly, I know). And yes, they do look very much like glorified balloons, but balloons absolutely cannot be successfully substituted for these boots. For one thing, these boots are thicker and more durable than your average balloon. Secondly, the necks of these boots are constructed in such a way that they fit nearly perfectly around the leg of the dog and do not cause discomfort. The same cannot be said for the narrow, restrictive necks of balloons. My only issue with this product is that they seem overpriced. You get the sense that they cost much, much less to produce than what we're being charged given the materials used. I've certainly gotten my money's worth, though, so I can't really complain. Overall, I consider these boots to be one of the best purchases I've ever made for my dog. He won't be winning any canine fashion awards any time soon, but at least he'll be warm.

Ordered a pack of these in January to try for our Standard Poodle, Cooper, but we had warm weather and didn't try them until now, January 2025. His feet are shaved and when it's super cold he'll end up limping from ice forming between his toes. We also have a Golden Retriever whose feet aren't bothered by the ice and snow. The two of them love being outside and spend a few hours out each day. We had our first real snow today so grabbed our pack of Pawz. It took two of us to get them on, but we found a hack for a super easy, one-person way to put them on if we decide to keep using them (go to YouTube and search "how to put latex boots on a dog" and the first video shows the PVC pipe hack). Our Golden, Shadow, always wants what the other dog has and kept offering us his paw, so we put them on him as well. 😂 We were all set to video the crazy walk every dog has and were super disappointed. They both tore out into the snow, prancing and racing in their boots, showing them off, not bothered by them at all. They went through their normal routine, running around the yard. Speeding up the hill to the neighbor's fence to say hello to the neighbor dogs. Running down our long, steep driveway to say hello to the mailman and get a treat from him. Running around the house to run the wild turkeys out of the yard. The Pawz didn't do very well. After 30 minutes both dogs had blown out every boot on their foot. First their nails poked through. Now, both dogs get their nails cut and dremeled every 6 weeks. They aren't overly long (don't click on the floor). Then they ripped down the bottom. Front paws first, back paws within 10 minutes after that. So, should we buy them again? They kept the dogs feet warm, even though they'd torn. And.... These are the only boots I've ever bought that didn't fall off. Major bonus. But they aren't cheap enough for disposing of after 1 wear. They might be okay for a calm walk on a leash, but for our very active 6 year-olds, they are an expensive option as a one time use. If they were available in a heavy duty boot, maybe double thickness, I'd definitely be interested.

Wow! I am severely unimpressed with the quality of this product. As was asked by someone on Amazon's Q&A page, yes, indeed, these are basically latex balloon material and nothing more. Some background... I was looking for some foot protection for my Golden Retriever who gets snow and ice stuck between her pads when winter arrives and we are outdoors. She doesn't seem to need insulation as far as warmth goes, but I always worry about the snow and the potential salts on walkways when we're out in the community. This seemed like an ideal solution. I was very wrong and should've heeded the warnings from some of the reviewers. First, the material is incredibly flimsy, but I was willing to give it a shot. These, however, are not easy to get on a dogs' paws. Even stretching them (like you would a balloon) before putting them on did nothing. I was not thrilled about having something so tightly fitting around her leg, but I figured I'd give them a chance since they'd only be on for a short time and not used daily. I may have been able to get over the tight fit (I understand why this would be done to keep them in place), but the quality is ridiculous. After having them on for about 10 minutes, the included photos of the "bootie massacre" were the results. It was absolutely an indication that these would not work for us. We didn't even get one solid use out of them, let alone getting any sort of reuse down the line. All four of the boots had holes and tears and one came off (impossible as that seemed to me at the start) while moving. I also tried another set on my Labrador (who doesn't suffer with getting snow stuck, but I thought they might just work as protection from salt) and they fell off of her after 30 seconds of walking. Literally just came right off as she was walking - and I'm frankly not sure how it happened because the fit around the securing point was quite snug. She also had holes in hers and, as stated, they were only on her for a few seconds before they came off. Perhaps for very small dogs these might work in VERY delicate use situations (maybe - though I can't imagine they'd be good for much of anything), but if a dog is of average to large size, I just can't see these as a viable option at all. Such a shame and a waste of money, but I would hate to see someone else buy these and think they would get multiple uses out of them when one use didn't even happen.

My Parsons Russell needed a toe amputation so I hunted the internet and pet shops for a shoe/boot etc for him to use while walking. His legs are so scrawny and paws so naturally thin that I've had real trouble finding something to fit. The Mikki boot was my first choice but was unable to get it on his very delicate, poorly foot, which still had stitches. I've found the Pawz rubber balloon like socks to be ideal. I have arthritis myself in my hands and struggled for while to get to grips with putting the rubber sock on. Making sure my dog was sitting or laying quietly on the settee to make life easier for me, with his front paws hanging over the edge of the seat, I began by placing 4 fingers in the neck of the sock to pull and spread apart and slowly and gently eased his paw in, then removing my fingers to allow the sock to close neatly around his ankle part, he was ready to go. I found it not only stayed on, but stayed in place and for me, I consider each rubber sock to be thick enough to be long lasting. I think it works well because he is able to feel the ground and he walks so much better with it on. (Brief note of before the Pawz arrived - I had placed his foot and leg in a clean new poo bag and tied the handles above his elbow which helped keep the bag on his foot/leg and kept his paw from getting dirty, especially with stitches still in - so the rubber pawz socks are proving to be worth their weight in gold.) THANK YOU PAWZ. I realise they are not designed for medical protection, but in the house, his foot is free as I let the air get at it. Out of doors we simply need to keep it covered and protected.

A réception ca paraît impossible de glisser la patte dedans car l'embout est très étroit mais pour que ça ne glisse pas pendant la marche c'est bien ce qu'il faut. Il faut bien écarter l'ouverture et glisser la patte et remonter comme une chaussette.

Aber der Bootie geht nach durchschnittlich 5km kaputt, weil die Krallen beim Laufen das Material aufreissen. Größe L hält nun schon 15+km (Tracker gemessen, gefühlt beim Toben 30km) auf einem Wechsel von Asphalt, Schotter, Wiese, Feld, Wald). Dann stimmen Preis und die Leistung. Ich hatte verschiedene Booties (Stoff), weil mein Hund hin und wieder aufgescheuerte Stellen am Ballen hat. Beim Freilaufen verliert er sie aber, was unnütz Plastik in der Natur hinterläßt und die Eisbären und Greta dann weinen. Dieser Bootie ist unverlierbar. Sitzt aber etwas stramm (Blutzirkulation?). Für 60min rausgehen/joggen reicht es. Die Pfote bleibt trocken und sauber. Eine Nummer größer heißt aber auch patsch-patsch-patsch bei jedem Tritt, wenn das lose Gummimaterial den Boden trifft. ist uns beiden aber Wurscht. Nach einer Woche ist dann der Ballen wieder verheilt. -- teuer, wenn man die korrekte Größe bestellt, weil schneller Verschleiß. Sollte ein ein-Cent Artikel sein, weil es nichts anderes als ein etwas festerer Luftballon ist. Insgesamt aber 5 Sterne, weil ich es evtl wieder bestellen werde. Ist aber nichts für den Dauereinsatz für Hygienegestörte. Das wäre Tierquälerei.
