Solid construction, snug connection. Using it to connect 3 short HDMI cables into one. Works perfectly. Much cheaper than buying (yet another) new cable. Overall just handy to have on hand.

Worked without any problems. I used it to extend a laptop HDMI cable to connect to a TV that had an HDMI Cable. The TV was in a rented RV and it would’ve been very difficult to get to back panel connector of the TV through the wall panel. It was an easy solution ... this little adapter connected my laptop’s HDMI cable to an existing (short) cable that was available at the RV’s wall panel. We had downloaded movies from Netflix to watch during our trip!I now use this adapter for another purpose: to connect a Microsoft Surface laptop’s mini-DisplayPort-to-HDMI cable to an HDMI-to-DVI cable. This allows me to use my newer Win10 laptop with an older DVI monitor (no HDMI port) in a dual-monitor setup. In this usage, it saved me the trouble & expense of getting a mini-DisplayPort to DVI cable, making it work with cables that I already had.

I use these routinely with my audio/visual business on job sites. They hold up and are convenient to have in an adapter kit.

The cheapest and simpliest solution to my problem of connecting Roku to my stupid (i..e. non-smart) TV so that I can watch Amazon and Netflix shows. The TV only has 2 HDMI inputs, both in the back, and since it hangs on the wall they're hard to get to. With this coupler, I just disconnect the HDMI to my DVD player (which also isn't smart) and plug it into one female input and the Roku stick into the other female input and, voila, I can now watch amazon and Netflix shows on my dumb TV.

I received a DirecTV streaming dongle to test out. It is similar to the smaller Roku dongles with a male HDMI pigtail connector. My set is wall mounted and I didn't want to fight my hand behind the set and blindly search for a receptacle so I bought this adapter.With this, I was able to unplug the HDMI cord from the original DirecTV streaming box and then use it to connect to the dongle.It works perfectly and there is no degradation in either video or audio.

Basically, what this does is turn any regular HDMI cable into an extender cable. Normally there are male connectors on each end.You put one of these on one end of the cable and now you can plug another HDMI cable in.OR you can plug something like a Roku stick into it.----------------------------------------REGARDING "Why not just get a longer cable? ..."-- Long cables tend to cost A LOT more than short cables.-- Many places don't stock LONG cables.-- If you are a "tech geek" you have loads of extra cables ... FAIRLY SHORT ones ...-- You can't get "whatever length you want" for cables. So if you need a 15 foot cable you probably will have to buy a 25 foot cable--and then have to coil up part of it. With these you could connect a 10 foot cable and 6 foot. (6 footers are much more common that 5 footers)
