Round Top Medium Victorian Steamer Trunk Wooden Treasure Hope Chest

It is a family tradition to present the girls in our family a "hope chest" when they turn 16 years old. It is used to hold momentos and keepsakes, as well as to store future items for that "someday when she gets married". Since times are changing, we decided to go less traditional this year, and I purchased my granddaughter this lovely chest. It isn't as heavy as I would have liked, but it will allow her to store keepsakes and momentos. She loves it and that is all that really matters. Just know that this is more of a light storage piece. It weighs 10-20 pounds and is more decorative. It does have a decent storage capacity though.

It was a very quaint, charming, nice-sized trunk. Also the delivery time was very prompt. It was just a bit flimsier than I thot but still useful to store toys and very cute for a child's toy/storage room.

To start off, the product pictures don't match the received product. The color is completely different. You can see the trim on the sides is a fraction of the size as the product photo.The trim is so brittle that it was already damaged upon being received. The latch metal is extremely thin and malleable, I can bend it with one hand.It states the material is cedar wood with antique hardware. The only cedar material is on the inside of the lid. As far as the antique hardware, it's extremely thin and pot metal at best.You can see in my product photos the legs and base are all made out cheap plywood and are thin. Maybe, possibly 1/4 inch think.It's not real leather but all synthetic pleather, if even that good. It's stitched because it's actually 2 layers of material to even make it that thickness.This trunk could pass as a stage prop at best, worse this is not sold by amazon and doesn't have prime so no A to Z guarantee. If you take a gamble and you do purchase, you'd be disappointed and you will have to pay more shipping to get a fraction of your money back.Please Move on and stop reading this.Seriously don't.

Definitely not what described I give it 2 stars purely because it's cosmetically apealing as far as durability n craftsmen ship is pour like the other review said straps are vynl made to look like leather it's major component is 1/4 inch plywood so that's where they save the weight says cedar wood in discription but the braces are about the only thing that's cedar n part of the top for the price Def was expecting a better product

Beautiful finish and details. Nice good size. Nice inside. Several others saw it upon arrival and oohed and ahhaaed. Great value. Satisfied in all regards. Very well packaged.

My Wife and I think this trunk is beautiful, and it holds a decent amount of her crafts and sewing supplies, but the top is extremely flimsy. We don't typically clutter up our living room, but we do have young children and they are fond of playing on the top of this chest. We need to keep a close eye on them when they are, because even the 11mo is heavy enough to cause the top to cave in just by leaning on it. My wife has taken to stuffing the chest full with extra sheets to lend added support to the top, and this seems to help, but then you have to remove the sheets to get to your items every time. But overall, I think the price was right, and the chest is beautiful, we would just have liked it better if the top was just a little more durable.

Darker than I thought, but very nice

WOW.... this trunk is super nice. Very impressed! it is light weight and easy to handle. If you are looking for an antique heavy trunk this is not it. I have seen some people wanted to use them as a seat? this wont work for that either. If you are looking to store items in a really nice trunk or looking for decoration this one is really nice. Highly recommended
