Gold

With each album, Britt Nicole has progressed and grown as an artist and with GOLD, she not only produces her own best work, she leapfrogs most current contemporary Christian music artists for what may be the best CCM pop album in years.Gone are the cute affectations of Britt's prior offerings (I always found her purposeful voice squeaking in  How We Roll  to be cute and appealing in its own way, but a little goofy), replaced by a more polished, mature sound. That's not at all saying that GOLD is in any way stodgy or boring. In fact, this is her most exciting album on nearly every front - production values are of mainstream quality, musically GOLD matches up with anything today's secular radio pop princesses have to offer, and vocally she's in fine, fun form. I'm impressed that Britt doesn't over sing anything - she's got a strong, capable voice but delivers her music without doing vocal gymnastics for flash's sake.In GOLD, Britt explores some new musical territory while staying strongly in the pop genre. The bridge of "Breakthrough" even features a few bars of dub-step-like stuff, which works in the most intense song on the album. (With raised eyebrows, I was impressed.) "Amazing Life" is great fun, a clubby dance track. Most of the tunes are pure fun pop songs with instantly catchy hooks with a couple of heart-felt ballads mixed in. The joy of her music is infectious and I'd be surprised if you're not humming along to more than one of the songs on the first listen.The album is bookended by a couple songs ("Gold" & "Still That Girl") that are bound to inspire and raise the spirits of young ladies everywhere. Her messages of one knowing their great worth through redemption seem honest, open, and genuine. Britt's never been one to be a Bible beater in her lyrics (nearly every song could easily pass on secular radio without any "offense"), but when viewed through a Christian prism, there are some profound life-affirming messages on GOLD. One could wish for any number of things in this arena (a debate for another day), but I choose to think of Britt's lyrics like this: Her messages are POSITIVE without exception, espousing the struggle for living a clean life, which is light-years better than the vulgarities on display in most of what's available in her genre. Christians will instantly "get" what she's singing about. Anyone else will probably be inspired anyway, but probably through other life experience. The album is chock-full of lyrics like this example from the song "The Sun Is Rising":"You're gonna make itYou're gonna make itThe night can only last for so longWhatever you're facingIf your heart is breakingThere's a promise for the ones who just hold onLift up your eyes and seeThe sun is rising."The bottom line is, this is an album you'll be able to proudly share with ANYONE who likes pop music without reservation. It's worth repeating: This may be the best CCM pop album to come along in a long, long time. Enjoy!

My daughter, of 6 years old, had been ill for a few days with Fifths Disease, and during her time resting at home, falling in and out of sleep, she listened to Christian radio....and fell in love with the voice and lyrics of Britt Nicole. Of all the current artists on Pop Christian radio, she is the one that probably best speaks to the younger sect...and she speaks to them with a youthful voice, inspiring and positive lyrics, and a young joyful praise of our Lord. I was pleased to hear that the rest of the album echoes the greatness and integrity of the album's most played song, Gold. The album is refreshing to hear, and has been on constant repeat for all of my children, both the young girls and my son. We are very pleased with the purchase, and we are pleased with choosing this version of the Gold Britt Nicole album over the re-release of Britt Nicole's album.

This album really has a hip-hop sound to it, especially because of Ready or Not featuring Lecrae. I get the sense that Britt Nicole was really trying for a Rihanna or Katy Perry sound (not really acquainted with their music or care to be) which might turn off some, but I think she nailed it. Britt Nicole shows that a third album slump doesn't have to happen. her love for God and reaching out to young people and sharing the love of Jesus with them is still very much relevant here. If you want something that is comparable to the world's pop music that has a strong Christian message, check this out. All This time is probably my most favorite song off this album. In conclusion, it may not be for everyone, but if hip-hop music like Lecrae or Tobymac style is you're kinda thing, you'll love this album.

Britt Nicole makes worshipping God fun! The message is great and the music is fun.

I've been a fan of Britt's work since 2009 and I was so excited to hear that she was coming out with another album. I purchased it the first day it was on sale!I must confess when I first heard the songs I was a little concerned as to whether they were as good as her other ones, but they've grown on me since. So please, if you have purchased this and are not impressed, put it aside and then listen to it in a day or two and you'll see what I mean!:)

I buy a lot of Christian-based music for my daughter and by far, Britt is her favorite. The price was great and the music is awesome, says my daughter. What I have heard sounds good to me too! She is also mainstream so it's not intensive faith-based music or preachy. Good, clean, beautiful music...modern with sane lyrics and uplifting. Good buy for any teenage girl, I would think.

I was a little unsure of her. I have listen to samples of her music before. I must confess it is a little exotic for me. I'm not usually a fan of pop or song with strips of rap but she blends it really well. I adore her vocal talent and her hit songs GOLD, ALL THIS TIME, and STILL THAT GIRL are awesome!

It's so hard to find music which has really positive and inspirational lyrics which build you up and encourage and really speak into your teenagers life but this album does it all. You won't find any inappropriate, precocious or pretentious nonsense here. It's all good. Contemporary, cool and original. The girl can sing and you'll always feel better for hearing her.

I don't really know how to rate this fairly as I am new to 'Christian' songs generally, and only bought this for one track, can't remember which, which was featured in a film, can't remember which. So as I say, I'm a bit out of my depth here. But its OK and she has a beautiful voice without a doubt.

Like the name of the album it is gold on the quality of album. An uplifting album with catchy songs, that both and adult alike will enjoy album
