I went the route before of trying to save money by getting the "compatible" knock off Brother P-Touch label tapes. Yes, some of them work just fine, but I've had too many jam, some right out of the packing box, rendering the remaining part of the cartridge useless. I've also had some that print fine, but then start peeling off. Ends up not being a bargain at all. The Genuine Brother labels just work. Stick great for a long time. Do yourself a favor and just get the real thing. Save the frustration.

i have alot of color coding i need to do with studio equipment and my bane turned out to be trying to find something economical and that wasn't some sort of color that looked nothing like what is advertised. went through some imported (wont say from where but we all know from where) good price ones, but the colors just failed. White print on Blue tape turned out to be really difficult to find, and the one that truly makes it to my liking is the Brother PTouch factory brand. so , far happy customer. now if i can only find a white print on dark green tape i'll be happy. the knockoffs are good for other colors, so not knocking them completely.

I could have purchased an after-market brand for my P-touch PT-1800 label machine for less money, but I did not know for certain it would be compatible with my machine, or have the same adhesion properties as the OEM tape.

Pretty straightforward, this is the real deal. Drops into my machine easily and quality of print and adhesion is great. I label everything from install dates on electrical items to my kids' water bottles and thermos. They withstand water pretty well as I don't have to replace it every wash. Now that I think about it, it's been months since I have noticed and peeling at all.

What tamper evident means is that, while it's possible to peel this tape off, doing so messes up the tape such that there is no way to re-stick it so that your screwing about isn't obvious. Let's say you want to place serial numbers on your capital equipment. It would become impossible for someone to move your serial number from one computer (for example) to another. Also, when the tape is peeled off, half the adhesive remains on the tape while half is left on the object--and depending on the age of the tape it can be anywhere from darn difficult (fresh) to darn damn hellishly difficult (several years old) to clean the adhesive off the object.The white background color is the adhesive. When peeled up it leaves a checkerboard pattern of stuck-to-tape/stuck-to-object (3mm squares). So you get small white squares of goo left on the object. If not careful while handling the tape before you stick it down, bits of adhesive can stick to your fingers. This leaves clear "holes" along the edges of your label. Also, Brother changed the construction of the tape a few years ago. The newer tape is thinner and more flexible--a plus IMO. Brother's tamper evident tape comes only in this color and only in this width.Anyway, it's not that some dirty-rat-bastard won't ever be able to remove your labels, but that they will never be able to reuse your labels somewhere else. If this is what you want then this is the label tape for you.

I may or may not have labeled the dogs, the wife and the me with it. She wasn’t amused (maybe a little). Also, pretty wild that the adhesive holds up in the dishwasher, yet comes off clean and relatively easy when you want it to.

After using the original Brother tapes I thought them too expensive so I bought alternative tapes - much cheaper. What a load of rubbish - every single tape seized after a short time. OK - so the originals are more expensive but I have never had any issues. I use them for labelling plants and shrubs outdoors - excellent.

Bit of a con, I Returned the item.

Not a lot to say really but its a lot neater and smarter than white tape with black print when levelling items such as camera bodies and lenses.These TZ tapes are a lot thinner than the earlier Brother tape systems which is a big plus when trying to stick them to curved surfaces.

Handsome gold-on-black adhesive tape, with multiple uses around the home. It's non-fading and weatherproof, so can also be used in the garden. I use it for labelling plugs and frozen meals. However, I don't understand why a product, which is basically a roll of tape, has to cost so much.
