Woodworking Mallet

This mallet has an ergonomic handle, and is very well balanced. The urethane head prevents marring of your tools and absorbs the strike. Very comfortable to use for long periods of time & a great value for the price.

Nice mallet, I ended up wrapping the hangle with black "hockey" tape for some extra texture and feel.

Hilarious shape but it works. 15 oz just like it is stated which is nice. Thick handle is comfy. I like that the wood is not sanded too fine or coated with poly. The raw and fairly rough wood texture is quite easy to grip.

It’s a really good mallet. Very mallety. Durable polyurethane(?) surface resists damage to both mallet and tool. Great weight, easy in the hand. Perfect for driving a chisel.

This is what I use on my chisels and it improves on the character of that dumbbell your daughter brings home!

Firstly, well done Amazon. 7 days, Monday to Monday, New Jersey to East Yorkshire. Wish Royal Mail were that switched on. The mallet is just right, I’ve got the 20oz version from the “other” brand, which is equally good, but sometimes a bit much. I think the 12oz version would be a bit light. As for the people that have complained on other listings of the same product, about the handle not being sanded well enough, when mine arrived I was expecting it to be like an old gate post. Yes, it’s not been sanded to 400 grit, but so what, you’re meant to be a woodworker, so do some woodwork. You’ve only bought it because it was cheaper that the equivalent Wood Is Good version, same as the rest of us, 30 seconds and a bit of 240 grit paper and you’re done.

Best thing about it for me is that these are quiet. One might think the noise of a hammer is minimal, but it is often as high as a small bore, but short in duration. In the end it can damage hearing, annoy co-workers, or keep kids awake while you work in the basement. There are a lot of whacks when making the average dovetail joint. I have a 30oz model, and a 20oz version I have owned for 25 years. This seemed comparable in quality, no plastic odor, and very reasonable price Handle could use a light sanding, and some oil.

This mallet is great! Fits the hand well and the rubber covering keeps my chisels and gouge handles from splitting or chipping. It allows for extreme detail work comfortably, you can control the strike of the mallet well. I have used it for a month now and I am more than pleased with how it preforms. Quality build and materials on the mallet as well. I will happily use it the rest of my life, it is rare to have a tool that will last several lifetimes, I imagine this mallet will be passed on many years after I am gone. Great product!
