I would caution anyone using this to ensure the handle is Properly affixed.I had a hot poker ball out of the handle onto a piece that I have been working on for months was just going to put a finishing brand on it before I sold it it did not appear that there was any adhesive whatsoever used in attaching the handle I reattached it with Epoxy I know it was a simple fix but it was a simple fix on there and also when they made the thing and had they done what they were supposed to do my project you wouldn’t be ruined. I certainly expect more from a product then have it fall apart during normal use. It doesn’t appear to be a defect in the product so much it appears to be a lack of craftsmanship and management on the end of whoever is making the thing.

This Branding Iron works well on deformable surfaces like a meat or leather. For wood not so good. The letters are solid, well spaced and aligned but they are not all in the same plane. To make a uniform brand on wood you will need to hone the face of the letters on a flat abrasive surface. This takes a bit of elbow gears but when finished .. you will obtain very nice results.

First it came super early and that alone made me happy. Second, it's perfect! My boyfriend loves it and can't wait to start branding his woodworking projects old and new. Only draw back is I fear his initials will be branded on everything in the house :)

The product was came as advertised, came with a solid handle and very sturdy rod. The letters were good size with more than enough spacing between them. The handle had a dark oak finish and the letters held their heat well. This was used for cooking but it can also be used to brand wood, leather, etc. Easy to set up the letters at time of purchase and nice add on options with the wooden box.

We use this little branding iron to mark equine tack. Works great and keeps it from walking off !!!!
