The one we had before was never read an accurate temperature. But this one is very good and accurately both for ear and forehead.So easy to use and there was an easy understandable user manual included. I think it is worth to read the instructions before use it. It also came with 2 AAA battery, so I can use it straightforward.Mainly it reads accurate temperature.
