What material are these made of? I am looking for something that kids won't break easily. Thanks!

It is made of Vitrelle, a tempered glass product consisting of two types of glass laminated into three layers. The thermal bonding of these layers gives Corelle its strength, allowing it to be thinner and lighter than other dinnerware. It is durable, in addition to being chemical resistant, and is both dishwasher and microwave safe. It was introduced by Corning Glass Works in 1970, but is now manufactured and sold by World Kitchen.1 A typical Corelle dinner plate measures 26 centimetres in diameter and weighs 355 grams. They are very durable. I have dropped them on my wood kitchen floor and they do not break. However, since they are made of glass, they can be broken if the impact is hard enough. They do not break easily though and would be my choice over plastic for use with children.

it says in description “soft gray borders” Is this just white?

No, there is a soft Gray pattern on the edges of "Mystic" gray plate. Please be aware that Corelle offers "White" AND "Winterfrost" The "White" is a brighter white than the Winterfrost. (maybe they are suggesting it has a gray cast to it, but I do not see that) Sometimes, I have seen pieces in the outlet stores that have a "yellowish tinge" to the white. Hence, most likely why they are at the outlet store due to a color malfunction.

Need bowls about 8.5” d by 1.5” deep. i use for omelettes, portofino design. suggestions??

Hassell free , clean , easy to use

I like Corelle table ware and use them on a regular basis. They are light and easy to use. Also they look gorgeous. White plates show the color of the food on them

Good, though smaller than hoped

Plates were good, but should have ordered the dinner sized ones. These are good for a generous breakfast but not for Indian meals that need plate space for sabzi, roti, rice and other condiments.

Standard product but costly

Nice plate,but it is breakable...100% breakable....may be imported from USA or otherwise, handle carefully..... Corelle is a standard product,but not best.This product price is too much higher than similar products...

It's duplicate Corelle.

It's a fake. All my plates broke into extremely small pieces. Like bone china. This does not happen with Corelle.
