Works great!, it took me like 15 minutes to install it with the push-pull vol to activate the single coil mode. The only observation is that single coil mode is weak, very weak, but ... that is expected and you can fix it with pedals.

Clear and even tone with a creaminess that you don't achieve with passive pickups
This is a biased review. I am a fan of EMG pickups and have used their products for over 20+ years. I have used their single coil pickups and humbucker pickups and appreciate the reliable consistent tone from their pickups.The EMG 89 is a dual mode pickup. This pickup actually houses two pickups in a single humbucking casing. This pickup is clear, nice bite with a growl that has no noise. This pickup is different from most pickups in the market due to the dual mode.The dual mode is the ability to use both pickups the EMG SA - single coil pickup and the EMG 85 - humbucker pickup at the same time or either in the single pickup or humbucker pickup individually. This pickup has a nice fluid creamy tone that is smooth and works really well with high gain tube amps. There isn't the buzziness of some passive pickups.This is my favorite EMG pickup to date.
