Two 9oz Jars of Stem Ginger in Syrup

I truly love the Stem Ginger in Syrup most particularly, during the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. For those of you that like to provide a dish that is different from standard fare this is the foodstuff to use. My main reason for purchasing the Stem Ginger in Syrup is for a sweet potato recipe. I shall put my recipe below.Take one to two pieces of the stemmed ginger and "mince" into many tiny pieces. Be patient and do this. In a frying pan, put a quarter pound or one stick of butter. Sautee this mixture until good and hot and let the flavor infuse the butter. One family size can of sweet potatos, yams, however they are called. You can find them at holiday time already spiced most specially with cinnamon etc. Take your casserole and place well drained sweet potatos and mash them with a fork lightly. Pour your mixture of stem ginger/butter over the potatos and add about a cup of brown sugar. Stir to mix well, but do not do it so heavily that you no longer have chunks of the sweet potato. Pop into the oven at about 325 degrees and let bake until the dish is very hot. You might even see a little bubbling around the pan. A marvelous side to any holiday meal. This is intensley sweet, almost like a desert. It is clearly high in sugar and butter, but once or twice a year will do little harm. Enjoy!

Product is OK but not outstanding nor as good as other product like this which I have purchased in the past.

I honestly did not expect it to as good as it is! I have been living in the US for 17 years now, and have been looking for ginger in syrup, but not been able to find it. This stem ginger is fantastic, and it allows me to make one of the best desert dishes in the world, called 'Kugel met Peren' (freely translated: Cake with Pears).If you are looking for good stem ginger, look no further, you have found it. And btw, I ordered 3 x 2 jars because shipping for 1 x 2 is the same as for 3 x 2 so I now have enough for about 6 pans of 'Kugel'. Ha!

Love this stuff! Too bad it cost more to ship than the product cost. I'm going to make my own next time.EditOk, so I tried to make my own. Not the same.... I'll be buying more from Chinrose!

This is exactly what I had been looking for. Cook Indonesian food and had been unable to find this stem ginger until now. So happy

As a California resident, I'm aware that Prop 65 warnings can err on the side of overkill (balsamic vinegar, coffee roasting, etc). However, I was not expecting a Prop 65 sticker on a product that advertises its ingredients as "ginger, sugar, water", particularly since the product page has no such warning. Not pleased.

Love this product. I looked everywhere for stem ginger for baking cookies. This is extremely good quality and the packing was so well done no way the hard would be damaged. I’ll order more as I need them!
