Haan HD-60 Duo Sweeper and Floor Steamer

I've had to upgrade my review back to five stars. Boy was I wrong about this item. It turns out after a year of use I never ran the lime/calcium crystals in the unit which apparently is to be used monthly. Whereas I thought the machine had ceased putting out steam, after running the solution through just one cycle it's back to working like a charm. So my mistake, this steam floor cleaner is absolutely the best. I love it. So, folks learn from me, use the packet of lime/calcium crystals and you'll be pleasantly surprised. [Initially, I incorrectly assumed the packet was a room deodorizer and didn't use it because my husband always complains of chemical odors (which is the reason why I purchased this product in the first place--it uses no chemicals, just steam). My marble, glazed tile and laminate floors are always clean and beautiful thanks to this Haan duo sweeper and floor steamer._______________________I've had to revise my original review because this unit stopped working a little past a year after I purchased it. Within the year that it worked it worked beautifully! For the price I thought I would have this steamer for several years. I'm extremely disappointed in its short life-span. The steamer stopped working altogether.

This is my first steamer/sweeper. We do not have carpets in any of our rooms (only on the stairs), so I didn't want a big, bulky vacuum cleaner. I did want something that would sanitize the floors. The sweeper function works better than expected: Picks up dry cat food and scattered litter from hardwood, tile and linoleum floors. The steamer heated up quickly and did an excellent job on all floor surfaces. It removed a very old food stain that I thought I'd have to use a scrapper on. It also removed dirt from in between ceramic floor tiles. I used the sweeper/steamer function together and was very happy with the results. One tank provided enough steam for kitchen, bathroom, den, living room, bedroom, dining room and hallway. I'm very happy with my purchase.

The Haan HD-60 sweeper and floor steamer is a terrific, intelligently designed product. I use it to sweep and clean the following items in my house:1) Kitchen and bathroom tile floor2) Large-area carpets3) My best area rug that I've only had professionally cleaned before4) Pet stains occasionally made by my aging and forgetful cat5) Although the product does not claim to clean grout, the grout on my tile floors seems to looks better with each steaming. Maybe the grout will continue to brighten up with continued steamer use(?)Here's what I like about the HD-60:1) The design is very good. I assembled it myself in under a minute. The sweeper, water tank, debris bin, pads and floor rests are all detachable and easy to wash.2) The steam is very hot and very fast.3) My house smells so clean after I use the steamer.4) The unit is compact, light and easy to push around.5) Sweeping and steaming at the same time saves time and work.Here's what might be improved about the HD-60:1) The steamer head is too wide to fit between the toilet and the wall behind. Haan might want to offer an attachment to steam tight spaces.

Purchased this in April, 2014. The vacuum on the one I rec'd stopped working with the first use. It was replaced by Haan. Mid-Dec, 2016, steamer sweeper began using large volumes of water and leaving large volumes of water on the floor. In Jan, 2017, product worked ok with it first fill, then large volumes of water began appearing on the floor, agian.. Shortly thereafter, the light would come on but no steam or steaming noise was made. I declared it DEAD! I am truly disappointed that this thing only lasted 32 months with rather light use. Hoping to find a more durable, longer lasting product.

I love the concept of this floor cleaner however, I am disappointed with the vacuum aspect of it. It doesn't do such a great job picking everything up and I still have to (dry) Swiffer around the cabinets and under the refrigerator to get the crumbs away from the kickboard to try to vacuum it up. I did do a test run and swiffered after I steamed the floor and even though there were a few crumbs here and there, the Swiffer came up clean!

This is my second floor steamer from HAAN and I do love it. It's perfect if you have babies or young children who play on the floor as it disinfects and gives floors a nice deep clean that mopping can't. I loved that my old model would vacuum AND steam at the same time so I purchased the same this time around with their updated version. However, some things to note: it is much lighter and easier to move around which is definitely a PLUS, but the tank for the water is much smaller (meaning you have to refill more times), the vacuum motor on the newer model is not as robust (hence the lighter weight) but works just fine. I actually vacuum beforehand and use this for "spot" pick ups. The price offered at Amazon is definitely the best I've seen out there as well.

I loved this thing when it was working, but my second one has now gone kaput after a little more than a year of use - just like the first! After my first Haan steamer died, I thought it was because I didn't descale it regularly so I was careful to do it every month when I bought a new one. And yet, once again, 14 months have passed and the steamer is broken. At almost $200 I expect a longer life span than one year!

I have had this product at my home for years and it works great on my tile and wood floors. There is no need to vacuum first because this Haan handles it all at once. I bought a cheaper similar product for my apartment and it worked once and then never heated up to steam again. I purchased this Haan again for my apartment, which I should have done in the beginning. You will not be disappointed!
