Does a good job if you give it the right type of fuel, cools down quickly
Does a good job if you give it the right type of fuel, and by the right type. i mean twig like in shape. Was having a rough time keeping a fire going until i found the trick... dont ever use anything blocky...twigs or whittle long twig-like shavings to keep it going. This allows all of the wood to burn down(you don't want coal with this type of stove). It is a rocket stove, so you will run though the fuel pretty quickly... but the window allows you to keep it well fed.A copper coated pad is also useful as you may encounter more soot, depending on your wood.Fits inside of a 775ml alpine pot.

plagiarized Copy of solo stove, not as high quality but great performance at a lower price.
Nice stove, works easily, packs well and it's fairly light weight when you consider the fuel savings. The base of the combustion chamber is stamped and cut-out stainless steel. Compare that to the stove it's knocking off, the soloStove, which uses much more durable nichrome wire and you can see this thing isn't built to last. But at 1/5th the price, the durability may not be an important consideration.I have two similar stoves like this. This one which has a taller top with a gapped opening and one that has a wide folding pot-stand and an ungapped top. I had thought the gap would be an obvious disavantage for heat retention but it isnt'. Instead it's critical to be able to feed in sticks and monitor the fuel level without having to constantly lift the pot. So this is a better design. And perhaps no surprise on that since it's also the design of the original SoloStove they are copying.

I love this little guy
I love this little guy. It comes with a tray for solid or liquid fuel and burns brush and debris super easily. If the pieces of wood were wet, I just put some solid fuel in the bottom and it even burned wet pieces. I think it is perfect for backpacking in any place with burnable material! It was essential and I used it everyday while camping. Also super lightweight!

Good buy.
Works well with wood pellets, tedious with sticks and twigs. Well constructed. Really like windscreen with fuel passage. Only wish it had fold out pot supports for larger cookware. Very happy with it for under $15.

Great buy!
I am thoroughly impressed with this stove. I was looking at the $100 +/- Solo Stove but could not justify that price for a wood burning stove. Amazon recommended that I look at this stove and for $15 and I decided to try it out.The stove was packaged in a fairly nondescript white box similar to that of many Chinese product clones. The stove fit well in the box and the pieces were packaged individually in plastic bags preventing any damage. The black nylon mesh bag is nothing to write home about but is sufficient for its purpose. The pieces all nestle together to create a fairly compact system when stored. All the pieces are durable due to simplicity of design. I think it is important to note that the simplicity of design is also what will make this stove almost indestructible.Assembly was fairly self explanatory though I could see where some people could have a difficult time putting it together. For example, the included solid or liquid fuel tray is not used for burning typical class A combustibles but there is no instructions to tell the end user that. I set the stove up without the fuel tray and gathered birch bark and misc. dry tinder. With a quick light of the bark I started feeding the tinder in and had a good fire in no time. I fed it sticks up to about 1/4" in diameter and 3-4" long. After just a couple minutes the stove started to create wood gas that was burning from the upper vent holes creating a perfect stove effect. Although I did not time it, the stove took about 5 minutes to boil a cup of water for tea. During this period I had to pretty constantly tend to feeding the stove. The only downside I found with this stove was hot coals drop through the bottom grate and light anything below it on fire. This could be a serious issue in areas where you cannot have fires or there may be periods of dry weather. This also could never be used in any table top situation.Overall I would recommend this stove to anyone from a casual day hiker to a prepper.

Hot !
Ultra light. Strong & packs down small. Burns hot and burns fuel to an ash. Used a cotton ball coated with Vaseline as a starter for the oak twigs.
