Mushroom House Dried Mushroom Forest Blend, Premium, 1 Pound

Wonderful flavor. Many different types of mushrooms in this. It's well packaged, easy to store, and a surprisingly generous amount. Also, for flavor, look, and texture, it's a perfect substitute for meat in dishes like soups and stir fry.

This was a good buy. I make mushroom powder and this has a mix of dried mushrooms. Gives a much better taste then just one type of mushroom.

They are indeed delicious. No one mentioned one of my favorite dishes. Creamed mushrooms on toast. I would have given this product 5 stars except for the fact that I really want to know, in general, where they were collected and the name of the consortium that brings them to us. The lower third of the green Mushroom House label has been obscured by an overly large bar code label that's impossible to remove without shredding. The jar is huge. This label could easily be placed elsewhere. I always inspect labels and often do not buy a product - for various reasons. I DO expect and explanation, and to be told what was obscured.

There is no indication about what triggered that warning. It could be naturally occuring chemical but I would like to know before eating it... Also container came unsealed. I'm not going to get that brand again.

I am using these despite a metal staple falling out of the container. This could have easily broke my teeth had I not been careful to remove it. You really need quality assurance.

If you are really into cooking these are worth the money. I have to go to specialty stores to find these kind of mushrooms and they cost three times as much. And I would recommend that when rehydrating soak them for a couple hours or overnight.

I personally grind them into a powder for gravies and tomato sauce. Gives a great earthy flavor to the meal. I never tried to use whole. I just went to order more, on April 18th, the delivery date would be June 12th. Will buy somewhere else.
