Those who are looking to buy halal products, stay away from this product as it contains gelatin that is not made up of fish gelatin but that of a pork. It is also mentioned on Nature's made Website, i bought it by mistake and they are not taking it back.

I actually bought these fish oil pills for my cat. I had adopted her from the shelter and she had been sick. She was underweight, looked sickly in general and her fur looked ragged. She had been shedding like crazy, to the point of fur just falling off in clumps and leaving bare patches of skin. She has long hair that you could tell had the potential to be beautiful, but something was missing in her system, or otherwise going wrong somewhere. She had bad dandruff as well. She slept more often than she was awake, was generally lazy and seemed to lack any sort of ambition at all. I felt so bad for the poor girl. After about 3-4 weeks of this and no change, I started asking around for ideas as the vet thought she was fine and nothing to worry about.. So, at the advice of another pet owner, it was recommended that I try fish oil for help with the fur/skin/dandruff issues, at least. I would poke a knife tip in one end of a capsule and then squeeze the oil onto her wet food. After a few days - maybe just short of a week - I started seeing a HUGE difference in my cat in so many ways. Her fur started growing back in, the bald spots filled in, it started looking shiny and healthy and fluffy. She became much more active and did not sleep the day away. She started coming to us for attention and love and was playful like a happy kitty. She started putting on weight finally. Her eyes looked brighter and healthier. It was just a total turnaround for the better. I was amazed and so happy. It is like the pills "restored" her. She now is a "normal," healthy kitty and I continue to give her the fish oil. She loves it and will meow for me to get it for her. She gets wet food once a day and she knows when it is time. When I get the food out, she stands in front of the fridge, looking up at the cupboard where the pills are kept and meows. I did stop giving her the oil from the pills for a short time to see if it was coincidence or not and sure enough her fur started looking bland and drab and she was shedding more again. Not in globs, but still a noticeable amount and her dandruff came back. So, I went right back to using them and I will continue to do so. It seems to be good for her and she likes it, so there is no reason to discontinue. I haven't noticed any fishy smell on her or any adverse affects. The oil itself when I squeeze it out onto the food doesn't have a strong odor. I know when I was comparing prices and indregrient amounts and reviews, people would comment on the strong odor of some of the pills, having fishy breath or burps afterwards, etc. I don't know if it makes a difference since I was giving it to a cat or not, but it doesn't seem like these have that effect. I imagine that is a good thing whether cat or human. I know this isn't a typical review for this product, since it is marketed for humans, however I thought maybe someone might find it useful and I do think the positive results we had are worth mentioning.

Nature made products are of good quality. Arrived in good shape. Have used this product many times and it has been reliable.

We all know the positive effects fish oil can have on your body, but the harder thing to decide is which brand to get and how much to take each day. Personally, I am 6'0" and 230 pounds with a relatively muscular build. I use fish oil as a supplement as any normal person would to obtain those healthy fatty acids that everyone is raving about that are known as Omega-3's. This supplement comes coated in a nice tasting and not bad smelling capsule with a lemon flavoring. The capsules are easy to swallow and the packaging is easy to deal with. I do not take the two-three daily recommended doses (just 1 per day) and still feel the positive effects in my body from taking them. All for a great price that is pretty hard to beat. I recommend getting a supplement list together and searching for each product on Amazon and adding each item to your cart to see what your total monthly cost will be. By purchasing through Amazon and selecting a scheduled delivery EACH month, it will actually SAVE you money.

Shipping method could use an upgrade. Shipping a plastic bottle via USPS in a plastic bag subjects the plastic bottle inside to damage as witnessed upon opening the plastic envelope. Not a lot of damage, just chips of broken plastic from the bottle cap.

I always go for Nature Made vitamins first because they are independently verified for purity, standards. My primary care doctor recommended I take 1 of these a day because only my triglycerides are high. Also, I am a 35+ woman who is newly married and open to having a child for the first time ever. There are certain supplements that are recommended including the DHA in this mercury free formula. Additionally, I love that these are tasteless... No burps, no aftertaste, nothing. Oddly enough - they don't claim that on the bottle. I will try to remember to update this once my next cholesterol panel is done to see the effect on my triglycerides. Definitely recommend!
