Previously, I had owned an Electrolux for over 25 yrs. When It finally died, I looked at purchasing a new Electrolux. I was dismayed at the negative comments; cheaply made, doesn't compare to older models, etc. Your product had high ratings and this model was not made in China - which was important to me. The taking off/re-attaching of your attachments is very easy. This vacuum is light weight and is easy to move around. I like that there are several different levels of suction. I also am enjoying the extension of your wand. I've already used that in reaching/cleaning out my ceiling air vents. I had contacted your company about the condition of the shipping box on arrival. The vacuum had been totally protected by the Styrofoam, but you still reassured me with the excellent warranty this vacuum has. Having 4 little dogs it seems I vacuum daily and the normal lifespan of Walmart vacuums was about 2-2 1/2 years. Since I’ve only had the miele for about a month I cannot speak for its lifespan but I can tell you after vacuuming I literally got down on the floor to look for those dog hairs that are always imbedded in the carpet... there was hardly anything left. I went through a bag in 3 days but now that I’ve been sweeping daily with the miele a bag lasts me nearly a month. So my old vacuum was leaving a lot behind. Coming from an upright to a canister is a bit cumbersome but I think that will change as I get used to it. Overall I am absolutely impressed with its performance, my only gripe is that the power head has an automatic shut off if you suck up a cord or shoelace mine will shut off randomly. However, the switch is on the handle and only takes a second to turn back on. I’d rather it be overly sensitive than not at all. It does seem to regain suction with each bag change too.
