Why did you pick this product vs others?: I bought this to help rewire my 21 foot aluminum boat trailer. I ran new wires for my taillights and clearance lights in separate circuits. This junction box allowed me to do that without issue. Now that each circuit is isolated, one going out won't affect the other. The cable connection to the truck is very solid and seems to be much better quality than just a simple 4 or 5 flat setup. While this isn't waterproof, and I am using my boat in salt water, I have it mounted just under the winch. This area rarely if ever has exposure to the salt water, so I am not concerned, especially given the fact that I am using tinned wires for everything. I expect many good years of usage from this. Highly recommend for a custom wiring job.

This idea of a molded plug and junction box is great. I've always wired my trailers up in a similar way, but this just takes the cake for ease and you only have to worry about water getting into the one side of the plug instead of both sides of the plug. The junction box seems to be sealed up pretty well, but I still coated the inside of it with a marine grade wiring corrosion spray just in case. I did have to re wire the terminals and go off position for a standard 7 way flat rv plug. Don't use the colors nothing will work right. I'll never understand why this hasn't been standardized yet. All 3 of the vehicles I tow with have factory plugs and they are all wired the same, why can't the plug manufacturers use the appropriate colors for the appropriate function in the correct position? End soap box. It works well and I'll be transitioning my other trailers over to this style of junction box and plug. Really does a neat job and tidied up the wiring big time.

Finally installed this with a rewire of the trailer. Unfortunately I didn't open the box when I got it and found a broken pin in the plug. It still works but you have to wiggle it just right. Otherwise, the boz and cabling is pretty strong.

Box is flimsy. Should use knock outs for standard grommets and cable clamps instead of precut with inserts. Plastic is thin on the walls. Cover is solid with gasket. Cord is thick and well made as well as the 7 pin connector. Instructions are clear letting you know what there colors are for so you can match with what you have. Most likely would still buy again since it's all in one package when building another trailer.

Super easy to install. After reading some not so nice reviews, I decided to test the wiring before I mounted it. Used my digital multimeter and verified the color code matched my 2004 Ford F-150. Everything matched so I continued on. Used some ring terminals on my trailer wiring and hooked it all up. Tested again after I was done and everything works as it should. Excellent value and made my 4-pin to 7-pin conversion on my older trailer super easy.
