Interesting Background for fans of the band
If you like Chicago this book will appeal. Written by the drummer from the bands most successful and prolific period it gives a good account of his life story from humble potentially difficult beginnings through the early years of the band though there major successes both in the 70's and 80's.Danny Seraphine always sounded to me like an excellent drummer strange that he was effectively sacked from the band and kept off records towards the end. He's come through it OK it seems and now plays in CTA whose first album is pretty good.I would have liked more about the music and how they came up with those fabulous early albums and more on the distinct change in style that was initially successful but in the end cost them some of their early fanbase.

A great read
Be careful what you wish for as it doesn’t always turn out like you wanted. A man who has loved and married two women and dumped another after she had his child must realise that Things Change.Danny was drummer in the massively popular Chicago and even has his name on the drum so he must have felt good. But after 20 odd years he was sacked. It might have been the best thing that ever happened to him as he sounded like a much better person at the end. It’s a revealing look at Chicago and is clearly very introspective. As other reviewers have said here it’s a shame it’s the only band autobiography. And a biog might be best as a biographer can take a wider view from the outside.

Street Player, Danny Seraphine
A compelling read, but hard to admire my one-time hero now. Danny Seraphine was/is a great drummer, of that there is no dispute, but nice person? No. If you are a fan of the band Chicago, this book is a must-read, but like me you will probably wonder how much Danny's complex character has added his own interpretation to the events.
